The Henry County YMCA is offering a way to stay connected with friends, family, and co-workers while reaching individual fitness goals and “virtually” traveling the state of Indiana. Sign up for Swim, Bike, Run Indiana, presented by Henry County YMCA and sponsored by Hoosier Auto Repair.
Swim, Bike, Run Indiana is a fitness challenge that allows participants to see how far they are traveling when exercising. Each week, participants will choose a goal destination and track their miles for each physical activity they do. At the end of each week, miles will be submitted to plot participants location(s) on a map of Indiana in the lobby of the Henry County YMCA.
The cost to participate is $15 per person (includes one shirt) or $25 for groups of two or more (includes two shirts, additional shirts can be purchased for $10 each). All proceeds will benefit the Henry County YMCA scholarship program for youth sports and preschool. This event is virtual and will run from September 20 to October 23.
Share weekly progress by sending an email to ksmith@henrycountyymca.org or by filling out a tracking slip at the front desk with completed miles and anticipated next destination. The individual and group with the most total miles at the end of the challenge will receive a gift basket. The individual with the most walking/running miles, the individual with the most biking miles, and the individual with the most swimming miles will also receive a gift.
Utilize the Swim, Bike, Run Indiana fitness challenge to gear up for the YMCA’s 17th annual Black Cat Classic 5K. This run and competitive walk will take place on October 23, beginning in the YMCA parking lot and will venture along the Wilbur Wright Trail. Participation fee is $20 if registered by October 10 and $25 through race date. Top runners in a variety of categories will receive an award after the race. More information will be coming soon regarding the Black Cat Classic 5K.
