Henry County YMCA Hosts Thanksgiving Turkey Trot 5K Race

The Henry County YMCA is hosting the annual Thanksgiving Turkey Trot 5K. The Turkey Trot 5K is open to both Members and Program Participants. The route will accommodate families, strollers, leashed dogs, walkers, and runners. The route will begin and end at the YMCA.

“The Turkey Trot is a great way to begin holiday celebrations with family and friends,” shared Kelsay Smith, Program Director at the Henry County YMCA. “It’s a fun tradition for many in our community and we are glad to be able to offer it again this year.”

The Thanksgiving Turkey Trot 5K will take place on Thursday, November 24. Registration will begin at 6:30 a.m., with the race starting at 8 a.m. at the Henry County YMCA. Finisher medals will be given at completion along with a light snack and a choice of apple cider or hot chocolate.

Early registration is available until Monday, November 21. Adults are $15. Children 12 and under $10. Children under 2 are free. Families of five can register for $40.

Late registration will be available after November 22. Adults $20. Children 12 and under $12. Children under 2 free. Families $50.

There are several ways to register for the Turkey Trot.

  • Sign up and pay on the Daxko mobile app under the Programs tab.
  • Click here to complete the waiver. Payment will be made at the YMCA.
  • Visit the front desk to complete your registration and make payments.

The Henry County YMCA is a non-profit organization that creates connections and strengthens the foundations of our community. 100% of the proceeds from the Turkey Trot 5K support the YMCA’s Annual Campaign, giving members of our community financial assistance opportunities when they participate in programs at the YMCA. These programs include preschool, swim lessons, summer day camp, and YMCA memberships.
