U-Turn is a 12 week program available to members and non-members. Each participant will meet with a personal trainer to set goals, determine body fat percentage, design workout programs, and discuss nutrition. Weekly prizes will be given to the individual with the highest weight loss percentage. Weigh in is on Wednesday with a group workout following. A personal trainer will be available throughout the 12 weeks for motivation, nutrition tips, healthier recipes and changes in the workout program.
Start Point
The first week of U-Turn #12 will begin September 21, 2011. It will be used to take body measurements, calculate body fat percentages, provide basic nutrition information, and use individual counseling to devise your initial personal weight loss program.
Check Points
Participants will weigh-in every Wednesday morning beginning on September 21. The final weigh-in will be on December 7.
Winner & Prizes
Prizes will be awarded to the person who loses the highest percentage of body weight each week. The grand prize will be given to the person who loses the most weight at the end of the full 12 week program. The grand prize winner will receive:
- The title of "U-Turn Winner"
- A choice of our YMCA shirts
Additional Program Information
- Participants are asked to provide a small healthy snack (e.g. a bottle of water, popcorn, veggies, etc.) each Wednesday during weigh-in. These snacks will be used for weekly prizes.
- Weigh-in sheets will be available in the Wellness Center office to record your progress and should be updated weekly.
- For a more accurate reading, it is best to weigh-in in the morning. However, participants may weigh-in and come in throughout the day to record their weight if necessary.
