Health & Fitness

The major components of a comprehensive fitness program should include cardiovascular exercise, strength training, flexibility, and proper nutrition. The YMCA has certified Personal Trainers and Wellness Instructors that are available to help you design and maintain a personalized fitness program that will help you achieve your goals.

    Wellness Center Orientation

    Wellness Center Orientation

It is highly recommended that all members participate in a Wellness Center orientation. Learn how to operate each piece of strength and cardiovascular equipment safely and effectively.

    Fitness Assessment

    Fitness Assessment

The purpose of the fitness assessment is to access your current level of health. This is extremely valuable when developing an activity program to help achieve fitness goals. A fitness assessment provides feedback to help plan your physical activity program. It establishes baseline measures to evaluate your progress and can help you to determine reasonable and attainable goals. It also provides education on flexibility, cardiovascular training, and strength training.

    Goal Setting Appointment

    Goal Setting Appointment

The first step in starting a new fitness program is setting appropriate and realistic goals. Schedule a 30 minute goal setting appointment with a member of the wellness staff. This will give you an opportunity to meet one-on-one with a fitness professional to help you establish individualized short-term and long-term goals before starting your fitness program.

    Nutrition Services

    Nutrition Services
